Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions?
With the New Year upon us, many students have set goals that range from personal goals to academic goals for the new semester.
Some of the goals that people want to accomplish for the new academic semester are to get good grades, have a 4.0, and become more focused in class. The goals can be simple or super ambitious. Jayla Worsham stated that her New Year’s Resolution is “to not procrastinate during my online class.” Making a goal to accomplish can keep you motivated to keep doing good or to become better in any part of your life.
As the New Year begins, you will think about if the goals you set will be accomplished or at least an attempt to accomplish them. Some students love to accomplish their New Year’s Resolutions but many just attempt to meet them. It may seem hard to accomplish the goal but breaking them into simple goals will make it easier for them to be achieved. Sometimes the goals are set too high, such as working out every day or making all A’s. It is easier to say you are going to accomplish them but to reach them may be difficult due to schedule or starting with too ambitious of a goal.
The best goals to set if you truly believe in New Year’s Resolutions should be something simple at first. If you are a busy person but you want to be more active, try starting out by taking a walk at least twice a week. If you want to get all A’s, then start by turning in assignments on time or not procrastinating with assignments. Some of the harder resolutions will come along if you focus on the simple goals at first.
Don’t let 2024 be the year you stay the same. 2024 should be the year you become your best self and achieve the simple goals first. Accomplish the New Year’s Resolutions instead of just saying them.
