Summer is right around the corner, and with the endless-feeling summer days, come endless possibilities! But it’s hard to figure out how to spend that time when there are so many different ways! In this list, we’ll talk about some fun activities that you and your friends could partake in this summer!
Picnics:
Picnics can be a great way to get outside and spend time with your friends! You could enjoy summer foods and fruits or try other activities like cloud watching or even just sitting back and enjoying the nature around! Some good places for a picnic could include Rainbow Mountain (if you’re looking for a bit of a hike), Creekwood Park, Big Spring Park, or even the Botanical Gardens! Picnics are also an awesome activity to try out if you’re trying to save up this summer!
Rage Room:
School can get pretty stressful around this time of year. Something you could do to take off some of the stress after the year ends is to go to a rage room! It can be a fun activity to do alone or with friends. In Huntsville, there is a rage room where you are able to try out axe throwing, nerf wars, a splatter room, and, of course, a traditional rage room! Entry is by appointment only and the price of your visit can vary with the amount of people you bring as well as the activity you choose to do!
Going to the Botanical Gardens:
Spending time in the sun is a token way to spend a summer, so why not do that and look at beautiful flowers, statues, and birds at the same time? The Huntsville Botanical Garden is a beautiful spot in town and is only $12-19 (depending on your age). You can bring a friend, your dog or cat, your family, or just go alone to the gardens, and enjoy a day in the sun surrounded by local wildlife and plants! It’s open every day of the week, making it a great and convenient place to visit this summer!
Volunteering at the Local Animal Shelter:
If you’re over 16 years old and love animals, then volunteering at the Huntsville Animal Shelter might be the summer activity for you! You can work with visitors at the shelter and do adoption counseling or you can work with the animals, walking them, bathing them, feeding them, socializing them, and more! Volunteer work can get you credits for different honor societies and look good on applications, but can also be very rewarding mentally and is a lot of fun! You can apply to volunteer at the shelter at this website!
From rage rooms to gardens, there are lots of other things to do this summer instead of rotting in bed! This list is not every activity you could do, but is a great place to start! Have a great summer break!
