The Bob Jones High School AFJROTC attended the Joint Leadership Development Conference (JLDC) at the Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, AL. The event brought together Cadets from different JROTCs as well as students in different CTSOs or Career and Technical and Student Organizations, such as HOSA, TSA, DECA, and more, from across the state.
Throughout the conference, our cadets attended workshops and listened to speakers who shared lessons on leadership, teamwork, as well as self-growth, like discipline, the importance of habits, and consistency. Cadets learned that true leadership isn’t about giving orders, it’s about setting an example, supporting others, and working as a team.
The trip was an overall success, and after returning from JLDC, the Cadet Corps is more motivated than ever. Cadets plan to apply what they learned by communicating better, helping one another more, and representing Bob Jones with pride and professionalism. The trip also gave cadets a chance to bond as a team and build memories that will last beyond the classroom. JLDC reminded cadets of their purpose of joining AFJROTC to grow, serve, and lead with integrity.
