October is a month full of stories about monsters, killers, and ghost. But what if those stories were true? Well in Downtown Huntsville there are tours, called the Huntsville Ghost Walk, dedicated to showing you were all the paranormal still remain.
It all started out with Mrs. Jacquelyn Reeves and her husband, Mr. Robert Reeves, taking a trip to a battleground in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. They took a ghost walk, and as nice as their tour guide was most of the information she was telling the group Mrs. Jacquelyn knew wasn’t true.
She was later addressed by a man who wondered if she would organize a ghost walk of her own here in Huntsville as a fundraiser. She rejected his idea of making up the ghost stories and got to work researching. Luckily for her, she didn’t have to start off not knowing any facts, because she has written multiple stories on local history.
Junior Sierra Knox says, “I doubt there are real ghost.” To escape those who don’t believe, Mrs. Jacquelyn and her team brought in a medium to confirm that after all their thorough research that there indeed were ghost. What is a medium? A medium is a psychic who can “see” a persons past, present, and future through spirit energy.
There are three walks and a trolley ride for people to take, the walks being two hours and the trolley just one.
Sharon Powell, an English Teacher at BJHS, says, “I’ve been on two of the walks. I like ghost stories and learning about the history of Huntsville.” Each of the walks are different, none of them have the same stories, ghost, or history.
Jacquelyn persuades, “We recommend that people take all the walks! All have some Civil War ghost, all have murders, and all are at different buildings.”
Tickets for the Huntsville Ghost Walk are sold in advance of you can buy them before the walk. To purchase the tickets visit Harrison Brothers Hardware Store. The tours are on Friday and Saturday: 6pm on Friday and 6pm or 8pm on Saturday.
