What do you need for your Memorial Day get-togethers? Something delicious!

Lemon Tart Recipe

What you’ll need:

Medium Saucepan

Medium Glass Bowl

Something to allow air to escape (kitchen knife/butter knife)

Whisk

Wooden Spoon

Ingredients:

1 tbs lemon zest

1/2 cup lemon juice (3 large lemons for both)

3/4 cup sugar

3 tbs heavy whipping cream

3 Large Eggs

1/2 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the degree it says for your tart crust recipe. Cover crust with tin foil and fill with pie weights or uncooked beans.
  2. Fill the saucepan to about the halfway line where it won’t touch the bottom of the bowl and bring the water to a simmer after assembling your double broiler.
  3. Whisk all ingredients except for the butter together and let thicken. This will take a while, be patient and wait until the curd will stick to the back of a wooden spoon.
  4. Take the glass bowl off of the heat and stir in the cubes of butter until dissolved. Pour into the baked tart crust and let chill for at least four hours.
  5. Garnish and enjoy!
