It takes one accident to change a life forever. For teenage drivers, the risk of being in an accident is very real. According the Department of Motor Vehicles, the accident rate for drivers 16-19 are higher than that of any other age group.
The most common cause of these accidents is distracted driving, which comes in the form of texting, snacking, fixing hair, and talking to a friend in the passenger seat. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 21% of 15-19 year olds involved in fatal crashes were reported as results of distracted driving.
