NEW YEAR, NEW TEAM, NEW COACH!

The track team is under new leadership. Head Coach Brad Jefferson, known as Coach J, has big plans for this program and this season.

The start of the Indoor Track season has just begun. Coach J thinks his team is ready. “After observing the work we have done for the last two months, I am further convinced that we are going in the right direction.”

He went on to say, “I really appreciate that you the students have taken so much of your time to make Bob Jones Track Program COMPLETE. We will be successful with students like you! Thanks, to Mr. Parker for allowing me to be where my heart is, working with the kids!”

As for the building of a new and improved track team, he has put together an A-List coaching staff.

COACHING STAFF:

  • Coach Brad Jefferson: Head Coach/ Throws/ Strength
  • Coach Stephen Baker: Mid-Distance/ Distance
  • Coach Carlos Matthews: Sprints
  • Coach Michael Freeman: Sprints/ Strength/ Jumpers
  • Coach Adriel Walker: Sprints/ Jumpers
  • Coach Freddie Griffin: Sprint/ Mid-Distance

The Track Team traveled to the Birmingham CrossPlex this past Saturday for the Holiday Invitational and had a great 1st Meet.

Performances:

Girls:

  • Anna Gierow placed 3rd in Long Jump and tied 2nd with Camille Franks from Auburn High School in High Jump, she also placed 5th in 60 Meter Hurdles.
  • Lillie Robinson placed 11th out of 34 athletes in the 1600 Meter Run.

Boys:

  • Brandon Alexander placed 6th out of 44 athletes in the 60 Meter Hurdles.
  • Nate Santiago placed 16th out of 77 athletes in the 3200 Metter Run.
  • Torrey Hunt placed 8th out of 87 athletes in Long Jump
  • Anfernee Jones placed 8th, Myron Wembly placed 13th, and Kendall Randolph placed 17th out of 83 athletes in Men’s Shotput.
