In a poll of what puts students in the holiday spirit, many people were excited for the food and hot chocolate that accompanies the winter season. “Hot cocoa and Christmas cookies, baby!!” Mackenzie Edwards can’t wait for Christmas to come.

But what is better to get you in the holiday spirit than music and art? On Tuesday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m., Bob Jones is hosting the Winter Choir Concert and Art Show in the auditorium and lobby area. Both Bob Jones and Discovery choirs will be performing, and many Bob Jones Students will have artwork on display. Admission is free, so make sure to bring your friends!

Many students stated that the Christmas song they are most tired of hearing is “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Quite a few students, such as Aaron Linder, are tired of  holiday music entirely, but mostly because they have heard the same songs repeatedly. This should not prevent you from attending the concert because the concert set defies traditional holiday playlists.

Joshua Hardman, a member of the Bob Jones Men’s Choir, said that the two choirs have been preparing for this concert for many weeks. “Everyone should come out and support the choir and art students. The holiday music we’ll be performing and the artwork on display is amazing!”

Not only will the choirs be performing, but art will be showcased. According to Mrs. Lakso, one of the Art Teachers here at Bob Jones, “There will be works from Art I, II, III, IV, and Advanced Art students. [Students] will see a great variety of projects including charcoal still life and portraits, pastels, paintings, and various works from Advanced students who will be completing the AP portfolios in the spring.”

Everyone should clear their calendars for Tuesday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. to come support Bob Jones and Discovery Choir and Bob Jones Art students in the auditorium and lobby area!
