Some fans wait all year for this game while others have no clue it’s happening. In the South college football is such a big deal to many. I surveyed 28 people about their hopes for the game’s outcome. 44% of people thought that Georgia would win, and 56% thought Alabama would win. In a tough game, the Georgia Bulldogs took the National Championship title with the final score of 33-18.

Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams suffered an ACL injury, and that might have been the game-changer for Alabama.

Georgia’s performance took a surprising turn in the 4th quarter when Adonia Mitchell caught a 40-yard pass from Stetson Bennett. Bennett went on to lead Georgia to the victory. According to Fan Nation, Georgia coach Kirby Smart had a lot to say about his win: “Well, I would open with a lot of respect for the Alabama football team, the Alabama football program. I have an immense amount of respect for them, and they fought and battled and lost one of their best players in the game and continued to battle.” He is the first former assistant of Coach Saban’s to beat him.

Though Alabama fans may be a little disappointed this week, they still made it to the national championship, and that was not always guaranteed earlier in the season and just being in the national championship is better than nothing.
