On April 11, 2023, AFJROTC’s cybersecurity team, CyberKnights, was awarded the Platinum award for finishing first in the state of Alabama in the CyberPatriot competition. As a result, they were invited to attend the Cyber Huntsville CyberPatriot Celebration, an awards ceremony to honor the top-performing teams at UAH.

The CyberKnights team consists of Blake King, Gary Stephenson, Hayden Petree, Kuan He, and Manfred Rosero. They have been participating in CyberPatriot competitions for a long time, and are thrilled to have achieved first place in All Service for their state.

In Bob Jones High School’s AFJROTC, there were two teams that competed against each other, CyberKnights and CyberForce. Although CyberForce also placed in the platinum tier, they didn’t make it to semifinals. This allowed for CyberKnights to claim the top spot in state.

Overall, CyberKnights achievement in the CyberPatriot competition demonstrated their dedication and hard work in the field of cybersecurity. They are an example of the benefits of the CyberPatriot program and participating in JROTC. CyberKnights is coached by AFJROTC instructor, Maj Melissa Lacey. Congratulations to the CyberKnights team on their accomplishment!
