SETC, Southeastern Theatre Conference is a membership organization spread out across ten states in the southeast region of the United States. It also holds the final thespian competition where Bob Jones High School will be competing this year. Coming back from state just last weekend, for the fourth year, Bob Jones won Best in Show for their one act, Standard Deviation. They also won Best Set.

Mary Davis’s entire first block had made it to state with several others from all of her other classes. Coming from the I. E. (Individual Event) section, Anna McAbee came in second with her dramatic monologue, Samantha Stratton in 3rd with her Musical solo, Samuel Jackson in second with Musical Solo as well, and Dekilo Haygood and Will in 3rd with their Dramatic Duet. They also placed in dramatic Readers’ Theatre and other events.

Jacob Franks, a techie, said, “I’m really excited to see all the different One Acts from all the other states, although I’m very nervous over all.”  Kenji Tyler, another techie, said, “I feel very productive and happy with myself ever since I started tech.  I’ve made several friends and going to SETC I know I’ll meet several more and have a blast.”
