The cookies are in! The time is now!

Throughout February, Girl Scouts are hitting the ground running with these delectable classics. Selling left and right, Girl Scouts all over America are ringing doorbells and selling cookies by the box. With seven flavors and diverse nutritional choices in our area, these delectable treats make cookie-lovers say, ‘Keep ‘em coming!’

New flavors, aside from classics like Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, and Tagalongs, include a new oatmeal raisin cookie called Rah-Rah Raisins and a gluten-free cookie named Toffee Crunch.

Cookie-loving customer and Bob Jones junior, Theresa Andrzeweski, says, concerning the new Rah-Rah Raisins, “It definitely adds some variety.” The new gluten-free cookie is also a fancy new option, expanding the horizons of Girl Scouts.

Speaking of new horizons, the new transformation to classic seller, Thin Mints, has both scouts and customers asking questions. The mint chocolate cookie is now vegan friendly! BJHS junior and current girl scout Shelby Travis said, “I think it’s good that they’ve changed Thin Mints to a vegan cookie so that way more people can enjoy the love of Girl Scout cookies.”  Though local Girl Scout leaders claim that the taste hasn’t been tweaked at all, some customers and fellow Thin Mint lovers may disagree when they try them.

Senior Kennedy Booker added when asked if she would be able to taste the slight difference, “Maybe, but change doesn’t have to be bad. I’m all for healthy alternatives, plus it’s cruelty-free.” This definitely places a new type of customers into the hands of girl scouts everywhere.

You may have heard exciting rumors of the “Digital Cookie”.  Although this is an incorrect theory for North Alabama, surrounding areas allow cookie lovers to order their Girl Scout cookies online and have their order shipped to their house or delivered by a Girl Scout. Thus, making the selling process more efficient for both the seller and the buyer. Sadly, this is untrue of North Alabama.

Even though we, living in Northern Alabama, can’t just sit at home, watch Netflix, and order cookies to be delivered like pizza whenever we want, eager customers can still install the Official Girl Scout Cookie Finder App. This allows you to search for a local cookie booth. The app also lists information like when, where, and exactly how far it is from your current location.

How cool is that? Very. No more will customers have to suffer driving around, wasting gas no less, to ferret out a booth with smiling girls and scrumptious cookies.
