The Huntsville Botanical Gardens is seeking summer youth volunteers in a variety of areas: Horticulture, Conservation and Curation, and/or Education. This is hands-on outdoor work. You can access the application HERE.

Important Dates:

• February 25 – Application deadline
• March 7-11, 21-31, April 1-7 – Selection process (including interviews)
• April 18-22 – Notification via email of selection
• May 2022 – Training sessions, Final paperwork due
• June 1-July 31 – Date range to complete minimum of 30 hours

• July 2022 – Recognition event and certificates for completion

The program coordinator Ms. Hertzig said, “We will even have green industry professionals present throughout the summer to help [students] in considering potential careers.”
Volunteer opportunities like this can look good on your resume and add volunteer hours to college applications, but it can also “deepen your personal connection to nature and your role in the environment.”
