Life is Strange Indeed

Galli Farr, Writer

How strange is your life? Well, Max Caulfield may just have the strangest life of any photography student in the world.

Life is Strange is a choice-based 5-part episodic game (a game split into episodes, much like The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2) developed by Dontnod Entertainment, who hoped to revolutionize choice-based games by giving the main character, Max Caulfield, the power to rewind time. As the player, you guide Max on a path unique to you, thanks to all the choices you have to make, helping the people of the corrupt Arcadia Bay and solving the hidden dark secrets of the city, while having to deal with premonitions that show a horrible future for the city, and maybe even the world.

This game is available for PS4, PS3, Xbox 1, Xbox 360, and on Steam (which gave this game a 10/10 rating). If you can’t purchase the game yourself, you can watch many YouTubers play it, including jacksepticeye, Cryaotic, IHasCupquake, Pewdiepie, CinnamonToastKen, and NateWantsToBattleGAMES. These people have thoroughly enjoyed this game, as heard in their commentary and even some of the titles for their videos.

Multiple students here at Bob Jones have either watched someone play the game or played it themselves.

“I like the plot, and the graphics are the best,” Patricia Bradshaw said.

“This is the best game EVER!” Emily Campbell eagerly stated.

“I think it’s very interesting and great,” Maleik Harney agreed.

Not only do the students think it’s an amazing treasure, the Official Xbox Magazine and The Examiner do, too.

“A must buy,” is what The Examiner had to say, with a 5/5 rating.

“One of the freshest and most intriguing title I’ve seen in a long, long while,” the Official Xbox Magazine said.

If you enjoy games where you affect the outcome with a choice-based story line, then this is the game for you.
