Maple Street Biscuit Company Is OPEN

A new breakfast place has opened in Madison! Starting in 2012, Maple Street Biscuit Company has four main principles: comfort food with a modern twist, gracious service, immaculately clean stores, and sustainable business. They promise to make all of their biscuits from scratch every day and to only use fresh ingredients. After visiting the location in Madison, I can verify that everything they have promised and stand by is true. As I was waiting in line to order, I watched an employee making a fresh batch of biscuits and putting them in the oven to bake.

Maple Street offers a variety of unique and delicious breakfast foods and drinks. They offer six specialty biscuit sandwiches, all of which have unique flavors that complement each other. When I went, I tried one of these sandwiches called “The Framer” which is described as “hand-crafted apple butter, poured over hand-battered chicken strips, topped with pecan smoked bacon & cheddar.” I think this was the perfect combination of sweetness from the apple butter and savory from the chicken strips.

Now, I’m not the only one who thought Maple Streets’ food was one of a kind. According to Bob Jones junior Chyanne Smith shared, “Overall I thought the food was really good. The sticky maple was delicious. The chicken was really good and had a little kick. The bacon was also really good and was crispy, which I loved. The biscuit was ok, it was drenched in maple syrup so I couldn’t really get an opinion on it. The crispy potatoes were phenomenal.” Another Bob Jones junior Katie Doughtery also enjoyed what Maple Street had to offer. “I rank the biscuit place an 8/10. The food was pretty good. The bacon was great, and the syrup was nice and sweet. The biscuit felt a little dense, but I didn’t order it without anything on it. The place was pretty packed, so it made service a bit slow. Cute place, would probably go again.”

Other than their specialty biscuit sandwiches, they also offer biscuits and gravy, waffles, frittaffles (these are omelets that have been put in a waffle iron and have the shape of a waffle), and a variety of sides. Overall, Maple Street Biscuit Company is a great place to go if you are looking for something that is new and unique, but also brings you back to the basic comfort foods.
