Stan Minkinow; a Holocaust Survivor

Matthew Daigle, Writer

Today, September 10th, 2014, Mr. Stan Minkinow came to Bob Jones High School in order to tell his story. Mr. Minkinow is a Holocaust survivor who was forced to live in Lodz and Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Speaking to Mrs. Dauma’s and Mrs. Huskey’s classes in the AV room, he explained what him and his family went through as well as a first-hand view of how it felt to live in the Jewish ghettos, as well as answering questions from our curious students. He was fortunate, but many were not, which is why he came to express how important it is to know about the Holocaust. History repeats itself, one must be aware in order to prevent it doing so. The classes and teachers that were able to hear his story are very thankful that they could do so.
