Today is September 18, 2019, and to some, it may be just another day, but to others, this day commemorates our Air Force’s 72nd birthday.

The Air Force was not always regarded as the military branch it is known as today despite what you may think. The Air Force was formerly a part of the United States Army branch and existed as the Aeronautical Section, Signal Corps, Aviation Section, Signal Corps, United States Army Air Service, United States Army Air Corps, and the United States Army Air Forces as the need for air defense, aviation, and overall military power increased all throughout World War I and World War II. Towards the end of World War II, it was recognized that the Military would need its own branch for aviation. It was decided that a new branch needed to be formed and in 1947, Harry S.Truman signed the National Security Act, thus the new branch was born.

Happy Birthday to the U.S Air Force!
