Peanut Butter Drive Deadline Approaching

Grace Sanders, Contributor

Our cafeteria staff wants you to donate peanut butter to those in need by February 24. Drop-off locations include both the cafeteria and the front desk. So far, students have donated about 90 jars. One cafeteria staff member shared, “It is so sweet to see some of these students bring in these jars of peanut butter.” Another shared, “Perhaps we can double these donations in the last week!”

These donations will help the North Alabama Food Bank. This organization supplies “13 million pounds of food a year to a network of over 200 food pantries, shelters and children’s programs in 11 counties of North Alabama… feeds over 80,000 people at risk of hunger annually.”

Individuals and families experiencing hunger can search the organization’s website for nearby food resources. You can see a list of places with free food as close as a mile away from Bob Jones by clicking HERE.

If you would like to volunteer with this organization, you can as long as you are 16 years old. You can sign up for shifts in both Huntsville and Madison by clicking HERE.
